Parish Full Council & Committee Meetings
Members of the public are welcome to attend any meeting unless specifically excluded due to the confidential nature of discussions.
Meetings of Almondsbury Parish Full Council and the committees are classed as ‘meetings in public’ not ‘public meetings’. Members of the public are welcome to attend, and at all meetings there will be an agenda item to raise any issues and ask questions. Public attendees cannot participate in discussions or interject with points of order or other comments. The meeting Chair may ask public members to state if their question relates to an item later in the agenda in which case the chair will note and ask the member of the public to speak at that item and not in the open meeting.
Debate can only take place on agenda items. Therefore if members of the public raise issues during the public session, these matters cannot be discussed and such matters can be referred to a future meeting of the council or a committee.
We are working on the ability to provide access to the meetings online via Microsoft TEAMS, this allows members of the public to listen to any of the meeting business, however due to current government restrictions only those attending in person will be able to ask questions and make statements at the meeting.
Meetings of Full Council and Planning are evening Meetings starting at 7pm.
Committee meetings take place during the day, the specific start time to a committee meeting will be stated on the calendar and agenda.
Annual Parish Meeting
The APM is different to the other meetings and is classed as a ‘public meeting’. All residents on the electoral roll of the parish can raise any issue during the whole meeting and members of the council can discuss those matters.
